MIT is using Fuzzy Logic to analyze cell function.

Fuzzy Logic can help model a process in a way that traditional math can't do, at least not easily. In their application, they avoid using detailed physics-based calculations but still get the same results.

In this case, the researchers are modeling cellular processes. Fuzzy allowed them to discover unknown aspects to a cellular pathway governing cellular death.
